Update for November 2019-April 2020

A lot of significant milestones have been achieved over the last 6 months. Five (5) of these milestones are briefly noted below:

1. Award of an FHWA contract to develop the instructor led training (ILT) for the Geotechnical Engineering Circular (GEC 10) titled “Drilled Shafts: Construction Procedures and Design Methods”. NCS GeoResources, LLC, will be working as a subcontractor to Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA). Naresh will be a co-Subject Matter Expert (co-SME) with Jerry A. DiMaggio on this effort.
2. On January 11, 2020, Naresh made a 2-hour invited presentation titled “True Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Bridge Abutments” at the Meeting of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) TX30 Panel on Reinforced Soil Structures held at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), Palaj, Gujarat, India.
3. From January 13 to 17, 2020, Naresh  delivered a 5-day course titled “Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Structures with Local Available Sustainable Resources (LASR): Recent Developments in Design Approaches and Selection of Fill Materials” at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), Palaj, Gujarat, India.
4. On January 21, 2020, Naresh delivered a 1-day workshop titled “Best Practices for Implementation of Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil Walls” Organized by Geosynthetics Technology Advisory Services, LLP, (GTAS) under the aegis of International Geosynthetics Society (India Chapter) in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India
5. Four technical papers were accepted for publication in reputed peer-reviewed journals such as ASCE Bridge Journal, Georisk, and the International Journal of Geoengineering Case histories. These papers were on distinctly different topics ranging from pressuremeter tests, infiltration analysis, uncertainty in differential settlement, and reliability of concrete cover for buried structures.
